Contacting Us via Email

When contacting us via email (asia.connect@whu.edu), your email address, name, and the content of your message will be stored by us to process your request.

We do not share this data with third parties without your consent. Your request is retained until you explicitly request that we delete it or revoke your consent to store it.

Joining the WhatsApp Community

We do not operate any web forms. To join our WhatsApp community you send us an email containing your name and phone number, which we use to verify your request and add you to the group. We only process the details you choose to put in that email.

By joining the group, you acknowledge that the messaging service is provided by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. (Meta). By participating, your profile and phone number may become visible to other group members.

In addition, WhatsApp processes metadata, which is transferred to Meta servers, potentially outside the EU. We have no influence on this data processing; please refer to their privacy policy for more detail.

Your explicit consent — given by sending us the email — is the legal basis for collecting your data. You can withdraw your consent at any time by leaving the group or asking us to remove you, which results in the deletion of your data from our records.

External Links and Social Media

Our website contains static links to our social media profiles on external platforms. Clicking these links will take you off our website, where your data will be processed according to the privacy policies of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. or LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company.

We have no control over their data collection.

All contact buttons on this website are ordinary email links. Selecting one opens your own email program with a prefilled subject line; nothing is transmitted to us until you send the message yourself, and no data is collected by this website in the process.
